There is an tradition in Ireland that I first heard of when I met Sadhbh, it's called The Pattern. Every year, on a weekend during the summer, people visit the graves of their relatives, ancestors and loved ones to tend to them. I guess it's a way of saying this person was loved and is still loved, we honour this person and we honour the love we still hold for them.
